Johnny Lodden Signs for PokerStars
This week we have seen PokerStars add even more firepower to their already dynamite team. Johhny Lodden has now joined the team at PokerStars which boasts names including Joe Hachem, Barry Greenstein, Chris Moneymaker and Victor Ramdin. The Norwegian becomes a part of the most prestigious group of professionals in online poker.
Lodden has a long history in playing cards and it could be said that it is almost in his blood. He started playing at a very young age and by the time he was 15 he had begun to take money off his friends from school. He had moved on to poker by this time and began to hone in his skills against his classmates. He had previously been playing Uno but grew tired of that and his competitive nature brought him to the game he now loves, poker.
Lodden stormed onto the poker scene mainly from a host of impressive EPT cashes. In Season for of this tournament series he went to the EPT grand Final in Monte Carlo, the most prestigious tournament out of all EPT events. He came in 17th place for a payout of $70,000. This is where people in the online poker world began to start to take notice. He follows this result up with more cashes in EPT events in future seasons.
More recently Lodden finished in 8th place at the 2008 WSOPE Main Event where he won £54,300. This was the final performance that he needed to force his way into the PokerStars team and be part of the elite group. Congratulations to PokerStars newest recruit Johnny Lodden.
