PKR Poker Going Into The Sportsbetting Game
As many sportsbetting sites scramble to get in on the online poker game, online poker rising star PKR (3 years, 3 million members, and counting) is about to turn the tables on them and launch its own sportsbetting site.
It will be called, logically, PKR Sportsbook and it will be integrated with PKR Poker and its cutting-edge, proprietary 3D virtual graphics software. How they will implement this into a sportsbetting site is anyone’s guess, but feel free to place your bets. Literally.
PKR is enticing newcomers with a 100% first deposit match up to a maximum $800 bonus. It’s only reasonable to assume that when PKR Sportsbook launches sometime in 2010, it will offer up a similarly enticing welcome bonus.
Other leads that PKR Sportsbook will hopefully pick up from PKR Poker include its member base (as membership at one will no doubt grant you instant membership – no signup needed – at the other. Though we have no official word on that.
We do know that many poker players and many sportsbetters are the same people – if you love one, you tend to love the other. Or so the figures these sportsbetting sites and poker sites are going by say.
We also know that Bodog has set the bar for providing these dual offerings, and Bodog Poker and Bodog Sportsbook alike seem to be doing great! So why wouldn’t other online poker rooms and online sportsbooks want to cross platforms and expand their value to their membership?
So, in that vein, PKR has struck a deal with GBE (Global Betting Exchange), maker of the iBroker software, to incorporate their system into the PKR look and feel.
