Players Only Has Extreme Online Poker With Lightning and Kamikaze Tournaments

Yesterday we mentioned Players Only, which is a site we particularly like, but that doesn’t get all the press of the PokerStars and the FullTilts of the world. So allows us to introduce you to a couple of other interesting and unique elements of the PlayersOnly poker room, and those are two different and unusual types of poker tournaments, designed (we guess) for today’s online poker player: the on-the-go kind.

If you’ve played at any online poker room you’ve surely seen shootout tournaments and freezeout tournaments, knockout bounty tournaments, and rebuy/addon tournaments. PlayersOnly has all of those. But it also has Lightning Tournaments and Kamikaze Tournaments, two things you don’t see everyday.

Lightning Tournaments are just like they sound – lightning quick. They’re for people who don’t have a lot of time to play, but don’t want to let that get in the way of their fun. These are played just like your normal Sit ‘n Go except that the blinds in the first round start out at 5/10 with an ante of 250, and you only get 1,000 chips to begin with. So those hands fly fast. With blinds and ante like that, you only have, what, 3 rounds to build that stack before you’re out.

Kamikaze Tournaments are structured like this: you go all-in every hand until there’s only one player left. It’s all-or-nothing online poker, hardcore and extreme online for hardcore and extreme gamblers. There are both single-table Kamikaze Tournaments and multi-able Kamikaze tournaments.
