PokerStars 2009 WCOOP and FullTilt Mini-FTOPS Overlap
Recently the schedules for tthe next PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and Full Tilt Poker Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS XIII) and it’s low-stakes counterpart, the Mini-FTOPS.
While the regular (high-stakes) FTOPS XIII doesn’t interfere with any of the PokerStars 2009 WCOOP schedule, the Mini-FTOPS does. As you know, the PokerStars 2009 WCOOP takes place from September 3 – 20. The FullTilt Mini-FTOPS takes place from September 9 – 20, with Main Events of both series occuring on September 20. That means the days of the entire Mini-FTOPS schedule overlaps with all but the first week of the WCOOP. To find out how many events overlap at the same time of day, you’ld have to study the schedules for each.
As for the Main Event’s, FullTilt’s event starts first at 5 pm ET; PokerStars’ starts at 6:30. So it is possible to enter both events, but is it wise? Only you know best. What about everyone else? Place your bets.
Will there be much of a competition for players between one event and the other? Will one event take players from the other? Or will the high-stakes players and low-stakes players go their separate ways? Or will most people just throw their hats into both rings. Thats always a possibility too.
If you’re not up for multi-tabling and need help deciding which to enter, let’s look at the guaranteed prize pools, for each series and its Main Event.
PokerStars 2009 WCOOP: $40 million total guaranteed prize pool w/a $10 million guaranteed Main Event.
The Mini-FTOPS: $3 million total guaranteed prize pool w/a $500K Main Event.
