PokerStars APPT Macau Summer Festival Schedule Released
The schedule is now out for the PokerStars APPT Macau Summer Festival. This coveted Asian Pacific Poker Tour event is the official kick-off of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour Season 3.
APPT Macau 2009 runs from August 25 to 30 in the official PokerStars Macau Poker Room (Asia’s largest continental poker room) in the Grand Lisboa Casino. It will be comprised of 20 events culminating in the $5,200 buy-in Main Event on August 25.
Also featured among the events are a High-Roller’s event with an $11,500 buy-in; a No Limit Holdem Knockout Bounty Tournament with a $500 buy-in; a 6-handed Limit Holdem Tournament with a $320 buy-in; and a No Limit Holdem Turbo Shootout with a $200 buy-in.
After a Welcome Party (date and time to be announced), the APPT Macau Summer Festival kicks off with a satellite tournament into a later $100,000 Guaranteed event. On August 20 there’s a satellite into the main event that’s free to enter.
The Season 2 winner of the APPT Macau Summer Festival was 22-year-old online Poker Stars qualifier from the United States named Edward Sabat who beat out 537 other players for a $453,851 payout. In all, Season 2 of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour attracted 1,772 players and handed out $4,998,268 in prize money.
The Season 3 APPT schedule features 5 tournaments in 5 different exotic locales: Macau (of course), Seoul, Aukland, Cebu (that’s in the Philippines), and the December Grand Final in Sydney, Australia.
