Bodog Poker Open IV Dates Set: Nov 1-8
The 4th Bodog Poker Open is just around the bend, coming at us November 1 and running through November 8. This installment of the Bodog Poker Open will be a little different than previous ones. For one, there will be two week-long series going on parallel to each other, a higher stakes and a lower stakes version of the same 7 online poker tournaments, giving everyone with any budget an opportunity to play to win.
The lower stakes version will be called the Contender series, with buy-ins starting at $5, and the higher stakes version will be called Championship series, with buy-ins from between $50 and $470. In addition to prize money, the winners of each Contender series event will land a seat in the Bodog Poker Open IV Championship Event happening November 8. The remaining players at the Contender series events’ final tables will win seats in the BPO IV Contender Series Championship event, also on the eighth.
Bodog has added $60,000 to the total prize pool of the Championship series, which will otherwise be determined by the number of players that sign up and pay the buy-ins. For the prize pool at the final Championship Series Event, an additional $25,000 will be thrown into the pot. The lowest prize pool of the Championship Series events (Event #6, $150 Limit Holdem) is still $2,500. In the Contender series the Contender Championship and the opening event (Event #1, $10 NL Holdem) both have additional prize money put in the pot.
