Cake Poker Holding 2010 WSOP Qualifiers

As of Tuesday, March 16, Cake Poker has started its run of 2010 World Series of Poker qualifiers.

They run daily for buy-ins of either $3 + $0.30 or $5 + $0.50. Winners receive free entry in a semifinal, which run three times a day. Winners of the semifinals meet in a Sunday final where the prize packages into the 2010 WSOP are finally given out. In addition there is a second way to win using a Step structure of five steps, starting at $1, with the top prize being seats in the winner’s choice of any of the $2,500 events.

The Cake Poker 2010 WSOP prize packages are worth $12,500 each, but the breakdown in how those funds are applied is very different than it has been in past years. Rather than applying $10,000 of that to the main event, prize package winners are given the choice of taking a main event ticket or any combination of tickets to other events with smaller buy-ins—from the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Championship to a pair of $5,000 events or two pair of $2,500 events and a couple of $1,000 events—whatever adds up to that amount. That’s no doubt why this year the CakePoker WSOP promotion isn’t called the “WSOP Main Event” promo.

Plus, you’re not restricted to staying at the hotel chosen for you by Cake Poker—althoug being the site of the 2010 WSOP events, it seems like a no-brainer—but you can pick your own accommodations as well.

You don’t even have to advertise for CakePoker dressed up in their gear while you’re playing—unless you want to. These 2010 WSOP prize packages truly do come with no strings.

Because of this unprecedented ultimate flexibility in your 2010 World Series of Poker experience should you win one of the prize packages, Cake Poker has decided to call this promotion: “What Happens In Vegas…Is Entirely Up To You.”
