Full Tilt Poker Announces New Live Tournament With Merit Cyprus Classic
Full Tilt Poker has just announced that it will be hosting a new poker tournament with the Merit Cyprus Classic. New to Full Tilt Poker, that is, as the Merit Cyprus Classic is (and has been) part of the World Poker Tour, which is primarily sponsored by Party Poker. But when Party Poker decided not to host the Cyprus leg of the WPT this year, Full Tilt Poker came in and picked up the slack.
The Full Tilt Poker Merit Cyprus Classic will take place between August 17 and 26 on the Turkish Occupied Side of the Cypriot Island. The total guaranteed prize pool for the event will be around $3 million.
Full Tilt Poker will be offering prize packages into the Merit Cyprus Classic worth $7,500 via qualifiers taking place every Wednesday at 2:45 pm EST for a $200 + $16 buy-in guaranteeing one seat will be awarded and every Sunday at 1:45 pm EST for a $300 + $22 buy-in guaranteeing two seats will be awarded. Starting June 24 Full Tilt Poker has been running satellites into these qualifiers for much lower buy-ins, starting at only $ 1 + $ 0.10.
The $7,500 prize package includes the $ 5,400 buy-in into the Full Tilt Merit Cyprus Classic 2010 Main Event, along with a 10-night stay at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino in Kyrenia.
Part of the excitement at the Full Tilt Merit Cyprus Classic 2010 will be the presence of most of the Team Full Tilt Pros on hand to make the competition especially exciting.
Winner of the 2009 Merit Cyprus Classic was Thomas Bichon of France.
