New Ivey In Town: PatIvey Cleaning Up At PKR

When someone mentions P. Ivey in the poker world, there’s only one name that comes to mind, and it’s of course, Phil Ivey.

But there’s a new Ivey in town – and we mean that more than metaphorically. The player’s name is PatIvey and he has landed his name in the online poker pressbooks for winning the PKR Masters twice in a row, and making the final table at a 3rd (coming in, coincidentally, in 3rd place, the winner being a Russian going by the name of ShatokhinNikita).

Hailing from Norkopping, Sweden, 25 year old PatIvey took $60,000 for those first two big wins, and even though he came into the final table on the third Masters event with the chip lead, “only” managed to walk away with the $11,250 third place prize, bringing his total winnings from these 3 PKR Masters events alone to $71,250.

And those aren’t even the only online poker tournaments at PKR that PatIvey has won of late, also finishing in the top spot in a recent Saturday Big Shot tournament, winning $7,800 for that effort), and the $10,000 Guaranteed Prime Time Poker tourney as well.

In an interview PatIvey confessed that he attributes his streak to a combination of skill and luck, saying he’s always looking for that edge (not in so many words) but that luck certainly does have its element too. We wonder if Isildur1 feels the same way about his $6 million winning streak last week; $5 alone off of the once-reputed NL Holdem king (who got his start online) Tom “durrrr” Dwan?
