MiniFTOPS XIV Starts Today
Full Tilt Poker’s MiniFTOPS XIV starts today. It’s the smaller stakes cousin of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series, Full Tilt Poker’s biggest semiannual online poker tournament series. At this past FTOPS XIV, $20 million was awarded. At the MiniFTOPS XIV, which starts today, $4 million will be awarded.
Even better, though $4 million is 1/5 of $20 million, the buy-ins for the 25 tournaments making up the Mini-FTOPS XIV are 1/10 of the cost to buy into to the same 25 events at FTOPS XIV. That’s a chance at 25% of the prize pool for only 10% of the risk.
The Mini-FTOPS XIV runs December 9 – 20, culminating in the main event on the 20th, a $55 buy-in NL Holdem tournament with a $600,000 guaranteed prize pool. That day also wraps up the big $256 buy-in two-day event that starts December 19 and boasts a $400,000 prize pool.
The MiniFTOPS XIV series also sees a series of MiniFTOPS Challenges in which players can earn extra prizes and prize money for achieving certain feats during the course of normal MiniFTOPS play. And there will also be an overall leader board kept for the series, with the top winner getting free entries into all of the events in the next big Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS XV), with the exception of the 2-day event. That’s a $7,500 value.
Like at the FTOPS XIV, besides NL Holdem the Mini-FTOPS XIV also has events in Limit Holdem, 6-max events, HORSE, Pot Limit Omaha, Razz, rebuy tournaments, and even Full Tilt’s newest addition – cashout tournaments, where you can take the money and run, before the competition has fully played out.
