Party Poker Premier League IV Won By French Player David Benyamine

David Benyamine of France has won the 2010 PartyPoker Premier League IV event. Facing an elite field of 12 of the best poker player online and off, all of whom paid $100,000 to buy into the competition (except for the singular PartyPoker qualifier winner Giovanni Safina who earned his seat play a €100 Party Poker satellite and ended up with the $158,000 prize for third place.

Having taken place last weekend livei in Las Vegas, the PartyPoker Premier League 4 is a league-based Sit & Go style tournament series. That means that players are given points based upon how well (or poorly) they perform in the required 4 out of 6 Sit & Go’s scheduled throughout the competition.

David Benyamine may have won, but it did not come easy, and he was far from the favorite going into the final table of the event. It was Unabomber Poker’s Phil Laak who seemed to be on the winning streak, dominating 3 out of the 4 Sit & Go’s in which he participated. But even those points weren’t enough to push him over the top of Frenchman David Benyamine.

Players were awarded a side bonus of $2,000 fore ach and every point they earned during the competition. The other players at the final table of the 2010 PartyPoker Premier League of Poker IV were Daniel Negreanu, Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, J.C. Tran, Ian Frazer (one of the newer members of Team PartyPoker) and Roland de Wolfe (one of scant few triple crowners, meaning he has won a WSOP, EPT, and WPT event).
