Play Poker On Television With Poker Stars Royal Street Poker
Every day in the month of February, Poker Stars will be hosting daily freeroll tournaments for a chance to play poker on TV on win a prize package that includes a free seat in the European Poker Tour Barcelona event (EPT Barcelona). The promotion is called Royal Street Poker, and here’s how it works:
Once a day every day throughout this month (February ’10) Poker Stars will host a Royal Street Poker Freeroll at 11:00 am ET. The top 10 finishers in each of these freerolls will advance to a Royal Street Poker Weekly Final, held every Sunday in February at 10:30 am ET. The top 14 finishers in the Royal Street Poker Weekly Final will get play in the televised Royal Street Poker game. In all, 18 PokerStars players will get to appear on the televised Royal Street Poker tournament and play poker on TV. There is no direct buy-in to the Royal Street Poker Weekly Final. It is only open to players winning their way in via one of the daily Royal Street Poker Freerolls in February.
There is only one EPT Barcelona prize package to be awarded, and that of course goes to the Royal Street Poker winner. The runners up will get PokerStars tournament dollars in the following amounts: T$10,000 for second place and T$5,000 for first place.
The televised Royal Street Poker game will be broadcast on Rustavi 2, a Georgian television station, and will feature PokerStars qualifiers in online battle versus celebrities playing online poker on laptop computers. The Royal Street Poker tournament will be made up of 7 televised programs, all leading up to the awarding of the EPT Barcelona prize pacakge.
