Poker Stars Offers Extreme Satellites Into Next WCOOP
Poker Stars is now running Extreme Satellites into its next World Championship of Online Poker, which is set to take place September 5 – 25.
The promotional period for the PokerStars Extreme Satellites is between August 21 August 29, 2010. Each day during this period, Poker Stars will host three different Extreme Satellites, each with varying buy-ins and prize pools. Two of the dai ly Extreme Satellites during this period will be in No Limit Texas Hold’em, while the other daily Extreme Satellite could be in a dfferent variation of Hold’em, like Limit Hold’em, or some variety of Omaha. There is also one 8 game mixed Extreme Satellite (August 23 at 20:00 for $16.50 with a prize pool of 50 WCOOP seats each worth $320) and one 5 card draw Extreme Satellite (August 27 at 14:00 for $11 with a prize pool of 50 WCOOP seats each worth $280).
What makes these WCOOP satellites so “extreme” is that each one offers either 25 or 50 tournament seats worth a certain amount. Amount of seats up for grabs and the value of those seats is not necessarily directly related to the buy-in level of the Extreme Satellite tournament.
The biggest value Extreme Satellites is the August 29 NL Hold’em event at 17:00 for a $260 buy-in, which offers up 25 WCOOP seats worth $5,200 each. That’s the cost to enter the main event. From there, the next most valuable is the August 28 Pot Limit Omaha event at 17:00 with a $109 buy-in and a prize pool of 25 WCOOP seats worth $2,100 each.
