PokerStars Offers U.K. and Irish Players Free WCOOP Seats
If you live in the United Kingdom or Ireland and you want to win a free seat in the Poker Stars 2009 World Championship of Online Poker Main Event (and side events, as well), this is your chance. Or rather, these are your chances.
Because Poker Stars is running several online qualifiers, including several daily ones, awarding, ultimately, free seats in various 2009 WCOOP events – and three $5,200 buy-ins to the 2009 PokerStars WCOOP Main Event.
All you need to do (besides reside in a qualifying area) is use the WCOOP Challenge filter in the Regional sub-section of the Tourney section of your PokerStars lobby. The choices that will come up will resemble the following:
- WCOOP Challenge Freeroll – daily, 19:00 U.K. (2 pm ET); awards 9 seats in the finals
- WCOOP Challenge $1 Qualifiers – daily, 19:30 U.K. (2:30 pm ET); awards 18 seats in the finals
- WCOOP Challenge $10 Qualifiers – daily, 20:00 U.K. (3 pm ET) awards the top 15% of the player pool seats in the finals
The 2009 PokerStars WCOOP Challenge Final will then be played on September 12 at 19:30 U.K. (2:30 pm ET) in which the top 3 players will win free seats in the PokerStars 2009 WCOOP Main Event worth $5,200. Additional prizes will be disbursed to the remaining top 200 finishers as follows:
- 4th – 9th place receives a $1,050 seat
- 10th – 45th place receives a $215 seat
- 46th – 100th place receives an $82 buy-in a Step 3 qualifier
- 101th – 200th place receives a $27 buy-in to a Step 2 qualifier
