This Week Is All-Star Week At Poker Stars
This week only is All-Star Week at PokerStars. That’s from Monday, July 27 to Sunday, August 1, and it gives players the unique chance to play online poker against the top Team Poker Stars pros.
All Star Week pits Team PokerStars against the Challengers, 30 of the site’s top players chosen from the pool of winners of the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), PokerStars’ Sunday Majors Tournaments, and the Yearly TLB, along with Supernova Elite players and three Wild Card players chosen in a special tournament held a couple weeks ago, on July 18.
Then this week, between July 26 and August 1, PokerStars will host 5 heads-up matches per day pitting these top players against one another.
Each match will have a $1,000 prize pool. Then an additional $25,000 will be awarded to the winning team overall–Pros or Challengers.
Now, it may seem like you’re already out of luck as far as being able to participate in All-Star Week, but that’s not actually the case. PokerStars clearly wants you rooting for the pros in these matches because they’ve promised to place all the prize money won by Team PokerStars Pros not in the pros’ pockets but into a special pot open to all PokerStars players to win. This special pot will be up for grabs in an August 8 “All-Star Week Fans Tournament” with an $11 buy-in.
In other PokerStars news, the site just launched its Lamborghini Freeroll competition, running through September 25 with the grand prize being a Lamborghini Gallardo.
