New Bachelor Themed Week Of Poker After Dark
All this week, the NBC Poker TV show Poker After Dark will be featuring six of poker’s top bachelors in a week long stint called “Lonesome Shark”. Joining the 2009 WSOP and 2009 WSOPE November Nine final tablist UK pro James Akenhead in his Poker After Dark debut appearance, the other unmarried men facing off in front of a nationwide audience will be Brad Booth, Antonio Esfandiari, Erick Lindgren, Mike Matusow, and David Williams.
In addition to some exciting and educational poker playing action, viewers can also expect to enjoy table banter centered on the lifestyle of being a bachelor.
The group of six men have a combined Poker After Dark record of 2:30, which isn’t all that impressive, Mike Matusow and David Williams the only two players at the table to have won a Poker After Dark event, but even still, Williams has played in 4 PAD events and Matusow in 15.
The most extreme example of the poor records (at least on this program) these players come to the table with this week is Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari who has been on the show six times and has yet to win. He obviously has a lot more than the prize pool at stake in this match.
In the traditional Poker After Dark Sit and Go manner, each player puts up $20K to sit in at the tournament table, with a winner-take-all first prize of $120K.
You can watch Lonesome Shark Week at Poker After Dark at 2:05 am weeknights, and a special “Director’s Cut” showing at 1 am after SNL.
