Durrrr Challenge Update: Tom Dwan $2 Mil Ahead on Antonius; Newest Challenger Jungleman12
The news on Tom Dwan’s infamous Durrrr Challenge to the professional (and non-pro high-stakes) poker playing community is that Dwan himself, poser of the original challenge, is no poker poser himself, proving it by placing himself $2 million ahead, with only 10,000 hands left to go on the challenge.
Tom Dwan’s durrrr Challenge is a Heads-Up challenge to be played out on Full Tilt Poker that Dwan is backing up with $1.5 million of his own money. The challenge is open to any player wishing to accept and involves 50,000 hands of either Pot Limit Omaha or No Limit Hold’em at table stakes of $200/$400 or more. This is also a multi-table challenge, in which Dwan and the challenger must be competing heads-up against one another on four tables at once.
If, at the end of the agreed 50,000 hands, the challenger is the one down, he (or she) agrees to pay Dwan an extra $500,000 above and beyond the amount Dwan won off them in the previous hands. But if the challenger is the one ahead, by even the slightest little bit, then Dwan will add to the “prize pool” $1.5 million of his own.
Meanwhile, in other Durrrr Challenge news, Patrik Antonius is still in the midst of playing out his challenge with Dwan. Less than 10,000 hands remain to their challenge and Dwan is more than $2 million ahead.
While Jungleman12’s identity is unknown, no one is doubting his qualifications for this challenge, as he is a frequent presence at Full Tilt Poker’s high-stakes tables (and frequently ahead).
The dates for the Dwan-Jungleman12 Challenge haven’t been set yet, but when they happen, just like with the Dwan-Antonius Challenge, all Full Tilt Poker members can watch from the online rail.
