Winner of the PokerStars NAPT Venetian High-Roller Bounty Shootout event was 21 year old Ashton Griffin. The event came with a $25,000 buy-in and a payout to Griffin of $560,000.

The young Lake Worth, Florida online poker pro showed his mettle on the live poker felt winning two shootout tables consecutively and eliminating 6 of his opponents for bonus bounties. Among Griffin’s tightest competitors was former WSOP Main Event champ and PokerStars.net online poker pro, Peter Eastgate, who wound up getting knocked out in 7th place.

This makes Griffin’s biggest career win in a live tournament, but it isn’t his only cash in one. He also came in 7th place in Season 1 of the Latin American Poker Tour in San Jose (LAPT San Jose) for a $28,956 payday.

Poker Stars added a $100,000 bonus to the contest, awarded to the player who collected the most number of bounties. That player was 4th place finish Scott Seiver, a PokerStars player, who knocked 8 opponents out of the running, including all 6 of the players at his round 1 table. In total, Seiver made $140,000 for bounties plus this 4th place prize of $75,000 for a total payout of $215,000, more than both the 3rd place winner Joe Cassidy ($95,000) and the runner-up Hoyt Corkins ($100,000) received put together.

There were 49 players in all at the event, including some of the game’s greatest like Phil Hellmuth and Phil Laak, as well as 13 members of Poker Stars Pro team, including Daniel Negreanu.
