Team Full Tilt Poker Signs New Red Pro In James “Flushy” Dempsey
There’s a new member of Team Full Tilt and it’s James “Flushy” Dempsey, the 27-year-old from the United Kingdom who made a striking impression on everyone at this year’s World Series of Poker when he cashed a total of $511,867, including a runner-up finish in the $10,000 Omaha Hi/Lo event and the coveted gold bracelet itself in the $1,500 Omaha event. Signed for a one-year sponsorship as part of Full Tilt Poker’s elite Red Pro team of rising young stars of poker, the Brighton, East Sussex resident is one such prodigy.
It wasn’t only his 2010 WSOP achievements that earned Dempsey this honor, as he has held notable acclaim in the multi-table tournament arena for the past several years. In fact, to further understand Flushy’s qualifications for this honor you need look no further than his current online standings, at the time of this writing being up by over $630,000 at PokerStars and over $370,000 at his new sponsor Full Tilt Poker. Dempsey also finished in second place in the 2009 PokerStars Spring Championship of Poker’s $320 No Limit Hold’em event, for a payday of $211,000.
Before his half-a-million-plus payday at the 2010 WSOP, Dempsey’s tournament winnings since 2005 alone have topped $200,000. As part of Dempsey’s sponsorship, FullTilt will pay him $35/hr. to play online poker at the site. And he gets a 100% rakeback.
Dempsey is now one of three British Team Full Tilt Red Pros who’ve won a World Series of Poker bracelet, the other two being Praz Bansi and Richard Ashby.
