2009 WSOP Schedule Released Finally

After waiting for more than a month longer than expected, Harrah’s has finally released the 2009 WSOP schedule.  The 2009 World Series of Poker has shaped up quite nicely.  The 2009 WSOP consists of 57 events beginning on Wednesday, May 27th, and ending with the WSOP Main Event beginning on Friday, July 3rd.  Harrah’s has apparently deemed the “November Nine” experiment a success; they will be delaying the WSOP Final table until November once more in 2009.

I am a little worried about the attendance figures for this year’s World Series of Poker.  As you know, the entire world is getting dragged into a global recession worse than many of us have never seen in our lifetimes.  The modern poker economy has certainly never experienced anything like the current economy.  I am curious and afraid of the consequences of what this will do to the 2009 WSOP attendace figures.  It is hard enough to justify a 1 hour flight and a hotel for a weekend to Vegas, let alone travelling from Europe to spend a month in Las Vegas for overseas WSOP attendees.
