New Changes In 2010 WSOP Schedule

The 2010 WSOP schedule is now out and, as always, it looks mostly familiar with a few little tweaks.

As for what’s the same about the 2010 WSOP schedule:

  • It’s still being sponsored by Harrah’s and held at the Rio in Las Vegas
  • It’s still got 57 gold bracelet poker events (plus a slew of side events)
  • There’s still the Ante Up for Africa Charity Event
  • It all still culminates in the $10,000 Main Event
  • Poker sites all over the internet will be (and some have already started) offering free and low-cost qualifiers and satellites leading up to free seats in the 2010 WSOP, including the Main Event

As for what’s changed for the 2010 World Series of Poker:

  • No more $50,000 HORSE event
  • Instead there will be a $10,000 HORSE event
  • And a $50,000 8-game mixed event
  • There is now a new $25,000 short-handed No Limit Holdem event, six-max, for all you high-rollers attending
  • There will be a new one-day $550 buy-in event held once per day every Tuesday-Thursday throughout the series

The 2010 World Series of Poker will take place from May 27 through July 17 with the final table of the main event to be held from November 6 – 9. Because of such full houses of years past (especially last year, where people got turned away from the Main Event, until the WSOP commission got creative), the Rio is now opening up a second room for game play. That makes 350 tables in all for the 2010 WSOP.

Stay tuned to this blog to find out where and when the latest and best 2010 World Series of Poker online satellites will be taking place.
