This past Sunday, two of the biggest poker sites online holding several of the biggest money tournaments online had their profits cut into when the buy-ins accumulated from the entrants couldn’t quite cover their entire guaranteed prize pools.

The site with the biggest overlay this Sunday was Poker Stars, which had to shell out $64,600 in order to cover $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool in its regular PokerStars Sunday Million. The winner of this week’s $206,834.57 top prize, besting 7,176 opponents, was København, making this his second PokerStars Sunday Million win.

The other big PokerStars event held this (and every Sunday), the Sunday Warm-Up, wasn’t afflicted, easily achieving its $756,000 prize pool from the buy-ins of the 3,780 players who competed. This time, the winner, and recipient of the $118,692 top prize, was Boalsburg.

Full Tilt Poker was the other site struck with profit losses from overlays this Memorial Day weekend. And this after payout out huge overlays in it recent FTOPS XII, including a more than $200,000 overlay at the main event. This time it wasn’t so painful a payout for them, with the Full Tilt Sunday Million only falling $20,800 short of its guarantee. From the 3,646 player pool, tophy4life emerged victorious, claiming the $132,787.50 first prize.

Like with PokerStars, FullTilt’s other big Sunday tournaments – the Sunday Brawl and the Sunday Mulligan – both had no trouble reaching their respective $400,000 and $212,600 prize pools. The winners of these two events were, respectively, babbelz ($82,400) and kkongo ($47,835).
