Welcome to the World Series of Poker Academy

Did you know there was a school you could go to in order to learn how to win at the World Series of Poker? No kidding. It’s called the World Series of Poker Academy (or the WSOP Academy, for short) and it’s located, of course, in Las Vegas. (Where else?)

It all started in January 2007 as Camp Hellmuth, a subsidiary of Harrah’s, that has now evolved into the most respected land-based poker school in the country (or possibly the world).

At the WSOP Academy students experience live seminars with interactive Q&As. You get live in-depth analyses of poker hands recorded on video at the World Series of Poker itself. You also get walked through live poker hand demonstrations. The WSOP Academy features a year-round schedule of courses, including their Cash Academy, Tournament Academy, Ladies Only Tournament Academy, and Main Event Primer.

And for the already somewhat poker savvy and truly committed, they offer two WSOP Advanced Poker Academy curricula: a 2-day and a 3-day curriculum, both of which include advanced cash game strategies, advanced tells, advanced pre-flop strategies, advanced tournament strategy, advanced pot odds, and more.

Even better still, the roster of the WSOP Academy faculty includes some of the biggest names in poker, not least of which are: Annie Duke, Phil Hellmuth, Brad Booth, Howard Lederer, Joe Navarro, Greg Raymer, Scott Fischman, Phil Gordon, Kenny Tran, and Andy Bloch.

Although these academies do each come with a price tag, the poker skill and knowledge you’ll walk away with should be priceless. And if that sounds great, but you still don’t have the money, the World Series of Poker Academy even offers Scholarships that you can apply for.
