WSOP Announces 2010 Nominees For Poker Hall Of Fame

Harrah’s and the World Series of Poker commission has announced the nominees for 2010 for induction into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Public voting, a step in the nomination process that was only just added last year, has completed, and Harrah’s, owner of the World Series of Poker, announced the names of the 10 nominees who garnered the most votes. The finalists for 2010 induction into the Poker Hall of Fame, into which PartyPoker’s & the WPT’s Mike Sexton was the sole inductee last year, includes 4 WSOP main event champions, 2 women, and 2 younger pros.

Those names are: Full Tilt Poker’s Chris “Jesus” Ferguson (2000 WSOP champ), Scotty Nguyen (1998 WSOP champ), Dan Harrington (1995 WSOP champ), Tom McEvoy (1983 WSOP champ), Jennifer Harman, Linda Johnson, Poker Stars’ Daniel Negreanu (8-time WSOP bracelet holder and 2009 November Niner), Full Tilt Poker’s Phil Ivey (the world’s biggest money winner in poker), Erik Seidel (holder of 8 WSOP gold bracelets), and the poker philanthropist Barry Greenstein (who gives all his winnings away to charity).

The Poker Hall of Fame Class of 2010 induction ceremony will take place in November at the November Nine celebration in honor of play of the final table of the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event.

Satellite tournaments into the 2011 World Series of Poker will be popping up at your favorite poker sites like Party Poker (home of Mike Sexton), Poker Stars (home of Daniel Negreanu), and Full Tilt Poker (home of Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey). We’ll be sure to keep you posted as they arise.
