Next WSOP Europe Announced

With all but the final table wrapped up for this year’s World Series of Poker until the November Nine finish it out this fall, the World Series of Poker Europe should make the wait more bearable, and reward. The 2010 WSOP Europe has just been announced, scheduled for September 14 through 28 at the Casino at the Empire, located in London, England.

The WSOP Europe 2010 schedule features a new event in the way of a £10K Heads-Up tournament taking place immediately before the main event, Event No. 4, Septmeber 21 through 23. The buy-in for the 2010 WSOPE main event running September 23 through 28, is also £10K.

Leading up to these two “high-roller” events are three other braceleted WSOPE tournaments: Event no 1, September 14 through 16, a £2,500 buy-in No Limit Hold’em 6-max event; Event no. 2, September 16 through 18, a £5,000 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha event; and Event no. 3, September 17 through 21, a £1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event.

The 2009 WSOP Europe was a smashing success, with 334 players competing in the main event for a £3,340,000 prize pool, the winner of the £801,603 first prize being Barry Shulman. Last year’s other WSOPE bracelet winners were Jani Milmunen, Eric Cajelais, and J.P. Kelly. In 2008, John Juanda was the main event champion, and before that, in 2007, Annette Obrestad won the WSOPE main event, making her the inaugural WSOPE champion.

Other WSOPE event winners over its first three years are Thomas Bihl, Dario Alioto, Theo Jorgensen, Sherkhan Farnood, and Jesper Hougaard.

Many poker sites are running WSOPE 2010 satellites as you read this, including Full Tilt Poker, Titan Poker, and Bodog Poker.
