Duplicate Poker Closes Its Doors

duplicate poker closedIn a surprising announcement yesterday (Oct. 5th, 2008) Duplicate Poker closed its doors for good, citing “the global financial crisis” as the reason for the sudden move. If you visit duplicatepoker.com, visitors are greeted with the following message -

Dear players, Duplicate is sadly bidding farewell to its players. Caught in the middle of the global financial situation the company is not able to continue to provide service. We are a small victim of the global financial crisis. Regretfully as of the today, October 5th, 2008 we are closing our service. We thank our players for being with us. Hopefully at later time and in a better economic climate Duplicate Poker will re-appear. Sincerely, The Duplicate Poker Team

This really comes as a shock to me. Duplicate Poker was truly a rising star in the online poker world, but perhaps they were having difficulty converting players to real money to support the business.  Maybe they were simply not able to secure credit they needed for operational costs.

By my research, the duplicatepoker.com website received at least 800,000 visitors last month alone.  They definitely were not lacking traffic or potential players.

Duplicate Poker Player Funds

On the website you can still log in to your account and access your money.  I have been assured by Duplicate Poker management that all player funds are safe and cashout requests will be processed without and problems or delays as normal.  I hope this is true.
