Sportsbook Poker Review

I need to start off by saying that I was not expecting much when I decided to check out Sportsbook Poker. I was told by a few fellow players that Sportbook was worth giving a try, if for nothing else than their very generous $650 sign up bonus. I was expecting to find a little hole-in-the-wall poker site with crappy software and no player traffic. However, what I found was a diamond in the rough. A very large, bright diamond. The thing that startled me right away was that Sportsbook Poker accepts credit cards from American players! There are almost no online poker rooms that accept credit cards from US players. So that is a BIG plus right away. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Sports Book Poker almost all across the board. The software is very nice and smooth, the competition is fantastically bad, and the ease of depositing money online to play poker is astounding for a poker room today.

Software Quality 8.5 / 10

All I can say is wow am I surprised at the quality of Sportbook’s poker software platform. The game play is smooth, the graphics are realistic, yet not too flashy, and there is little to no lag or hiccup problems that I could find. The lobby is a little cluttered, with links to their sports betting and casino site, but once you get into the poker menus, it is quite simple to navigate and find the game you are looking for. One of the big things for me when playing at a poker site is the “feel” that you get from interacting with the software. It is hard to describe, but some rooms can be kind of jumpy or laggy when you are playing and click action buttons while at the table. I don’t know if that makes sense, but I like how Sports Book Poker “feels” to play at. Although there are no resizable tables, and there is no way for Mac poker players to access Sport Book Poker, I am giving two thumbs way up for the shockingly good software at Sportsbook Poker.

Ring Game Traffic and Quality 9.5 / 10

Sportsbook Poker would get a 10 out of 10 in this category if there were more players on the site, and I will probably have to give them a ten in a year or two when their player traffic starts to mature. Still, 9.5 / 10 ain’t too shabby. While still being relatively new to the online poker scene, Sportsbook has attracted a decent amount of players to their poker room. And since most of them come over from their huge amount of casino and sports betting site, there are plenty of gamblers! The competition is as horrendous as it gets in online poker today. There is a good number of games going at all limits up to $10/$20 no-limit and $5/$10 limit poker. All in all, probably the best reason to play at SportsBook Poker is the easy money to be made at the tables playing against some of the softest competition you will find.

Tournament Traffic and Quality 7 / 10

One of the tough things about not having a ton of traffic yet, is that there aren’t enough players to fuel huge poker tournaments, or continuous sit and go tournament action. Sportsbook is doing an admirable job attracting more tournament players though, and if they prove to be as competent in running real money online poker tournaments as they are with running the rest of the poker room, then I cannot wait until there are premier-level tournaments at Sports Book Poker. With that said, there are still quite a few daily tournaments that run at Sportsbook, just not the top-notch tournaments like Poker Stars or Full Tilt Poker. They do offer a monthly $100,000 freeroll, which is one of the biggest freerolls on the net.

Bonus and Promotions 9 / 10

Sportsbook Poker offers a top of the line 100% up to $650 deposit bonus, which is one of the best in the industry. They also have a cool “gold card” promotion, where you can win special gold cards while playing at cash game or tournament tables. you can collect all 52 gold cards to win a $52,000 grand prize, or you can put them towards cool daily and weekly prizes, including valuable tournament entries and cash prizes. I definitely give Sportsbook a ton of credit for all of the unique promotions that they offer. I could explain them all, but I don’t feel like writing 2,000 words on all of them. Deposit Options, Financial Security & Support 9 / 10

Sportsbook Poker is one of two or three poker sites that can actually accept major credit cards from US players. They accept Visa and Mastercard and the deposits are processed instantly. There honestly is no simpler or quicker way to get money online to play online poker. I am thoroughly impressed that they accept credit cards. It is nearly impossible to deposit with credit cards these days.

*You cannot play at Sportsbook Poker if you live in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin.

Sportsbook is the poker site for one of the oldest and most trusted online sports betting sites online, so you know your money is safe. They have an A+ rating and an impeccable reputation for more than 10 years now, which is an eternity in online years. Your money is safe at Sportsbook Poker.

Sportsbook also has fantastic customer support. They offer 24/7 phone and email support, and their phone operators actually speak intelligible English, which is increasingly hard to find in any line of business these days. (I sound like an old fogey, I know. I swear I’m not even 30 yet though…lol).

So basically, give Sportsbook Poker a shot. I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised.
